At KemSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia were opened new promising youth laboratory with the support of the Center «Kuzbass – Donbass»

The laboratory was established on the basis of the KemSMU Institute of Fundamental Medicine and was provided with modern and high-tech equipment. With the latest technology young scientists were able to fractionate materials, create optimal conditions for cell culturing, assess cell viability, and ensure sterility.

Young scientists (assistants, postgraduate student and residents) from the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Pathological Physiology of KemSMU will conduct research in the new laboratory.

The laboratory will contribute to the creation of an effective scientific environment, promote the development of invention and creative activity, preparation of scientific products.

The immediate research goal is studying the influence of adipose tissue-derived stem cells on formation of calcium deposits in the vessels. This research will help to better understand the causes of diseases and develop new treatments.

In addition, joint projects with the Research Institute for Complex Issues of Cardiovascular Diseasesare planned, focusing on the development of innovative technologies, the creation of consortia with educational and scientific organizations, and the development of new interdepartmental research themes.
