The Kuzbass Research and Education Centre held a competition for international students at Kuzbass universities, timed to coincide with the Year of Teacher and Mentor in Russia

On 21 February, within the framework of the Year of Teacher and Mentor, in order to develop interest in the teaching profession and increase the prestige of teaching among students, Scientific and Educational Centre "Kuzbass" together with KemSMU of the Ministry of Health held a competition for international students and students of preparatory courses of Kuzbass universities.

Among the guests of honour of the event were: Irina Ganieva, Director of ANO Scientific and Educational Centre "Kuzbass", Vadim Shiller, PhD in History, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Activities, and Tatiana Pyanzova, PhD in Medicine, Vice-Rector for Research, Treatment and Regional Health Development of KemSMU.

All in all, the event was attended by more than 60 international students from China, India, Iran, Egypt, Yemen, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan who are studying at KemSU, T. F. Gorbachev KuzSTU, KemSU, SibGIU, KemGIK, Kuz GSKHA and UTI TPU as participants and listeners.
The participants were presented reports on the following themes:

- who is a teacher for me, what qualities does he possess;

- why I consider this person to be my teacher.

The jury assessed the performances of the students: Olga Tarasova, head of the department on work with foreign students of KemSMU, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Marina Chabanenko, assistant professor of the department of Russian language of IFJAM KemSU, Olga Popova, assistant professor of philology department of SibHIU, Anna Smirnova head of the Center of German language and culture of KemSU, Ksenya Demidenko, assistant professor of foreign languages department of KemSMU, Ivan Skornyakov, head of international cooperation department ANO "Research and educational centre "Kuzbass".


At the end of the competition, the winners received valuable prizes, and all participants received access to the "Russian as a foreign language" platform from partner "IPR Media". The platform contains learning materials for studying Russian
