During a working meeting, SibGIU (a member of the Kuzbass Scientific and Educational Centre) and the Belarusian-Russian University signed a cooperation agreement

On 24 January, representatives of the Kuzbass Science and Education Centre, the Siberian State Industrial University and the Belarusian-Russian University (Republic of Belarus) had a working meeting in the online format.

The meeting was made possible by arrangements made at the fair of innovative developments "Industry: from innovation to production" in Minsk on September 20, 2022.

Welcoming speeches were made by Natalia Aleksandrovna Petrik, Deputy Director for Implementation Projects of ANO Scientific and Educational Centre "Kuzbass", Alexey Borisovich Yuriev, Rector of SibGIU, Mikhail Evgenyevich Lustenkov, Rector of Belarusian-Russian University.

The Siberian State Industrial University presented reports by heads of laboratories for electroplasma spraying of high reliability coatings; complex processing of metallurgical production wastes; electron microscopy and image processing; research and production centre "Welding processes and technologies". The Digital Metallurgy Center opened in 2023 was also presented.

The directions of the Belarusian-Russian University were presented by: the head of the engineering centre "SIMTECH"; the dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering; the head of the department "Equipment and Technology of Welding Production"; the professor of the department "Transport and Technological Machines".

During the meeting Rector of Siberian State Industrial University Alexey Borisovich Yuryev and Rector of the Belarusian-Russian University Mikhail Evgenyevich Lustenkov signed an agreement of mutually beneficial cooperation in science and education, development of joint research, educational programs, including training programs for scientific and pedagogical personnel of higher qualification, participation in scientific and practical conferences and forums held by the organizations.

"Today, our meeting is attended by representatives of one of the participants in the Kuzbass REC - Siberian State Industrial University. SibGIU is the first higher educational institution in Kuzbass, established in 1930 in Novokuznetsk - the largest metallurgical centre of the country and the region. One of the key areas of SibGIU's research activity is the development of new materials in metallurgy, chemical technology and mechanical engineering. And today, colleagues presented some of their developments, which will identify promising areas of cooperation between the participants of today's meeting. I am confident that in the future our colleagues from the Belarusian-Russian University will get acquainted with all educational organisations and scientific institutes of Kuzbass," Deputy Director for Implementation Projects Natalia Aleksandrovna Petrik said.
