The XXIV International Scientific and Practical Conference on Mining and Explosives ended in Kemerovo - for the first time this prestigious industry business event was held in Kuzbass. The conference was organised by the Autonomous Nonprofit Organisation «National Organisation of Explosive Engineers», one of the largest Russian companies producing industrial mass explosions «KRU-Vzryvprom» and KAZOT with the participation of the scientific and educational centre «Kuzbass-Donbass».
The conference was attended by more than 250 participants from Russia and abroad, including representatives of the Russian Ministry of Energy, Rostechnadzor, leading Russian and foreign companies-manufacturers and suppliers of explosive materials, scientists from mining universities and the Russian Academy of Sciences, experts in the field of environmental control.
During the plenary session the participants discussed new projects and technologies of mining and blasting, current changes in legislation in the field of industrial safety. The conference guests also visited the production site of KAO Azot, a leading producer of ammonium nitrate, which is used for industrial explosions. In addition, at one of the coal mines, the participants were shown an industrial explosion using a new electronic blast initiation system to minimise environmental impact. This innovative technology was developed as part of the Company's sustainable development programme and Russia's first comprehensive scientific and technical programme «Clean Coal - Green Kuzbass», which is being implemented by the Research and Development Centre.
