KuzSTU (member of the Scientific and Educational Center "KuZbass") and CHUIN expand cooperation
KuzSTU and Chongqing University of Arts and Science (Chongqing, China) held a video conference. The Russian side was headed by Alexey Yakovlev, Rector of KuzSTU and Elena Malkina, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kuzbass; the Chinese side was headed by Huang Weijiu, Rector of Chongqing University of Arts and Science (Chongqing, PRC).
Kuzbass State Technical University and Chongqing University of Arts and Science (Chongqing, PRC) have been cooperating since 2020 in the areas of mutual interest - education, science and innovative technologies. The launch of a new educational program in the field of "Metalworking machines and complexes", the profile "Material processing and technical control" strengthens the mutually beneficial cooperation.
The competitive application for opening a joint undergraduate network program at Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences was supported by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The key rule of the program is that the partner university (KuzSTU) conducts at least one third of academic disciplines and provides training in the Russian language. The 3+1 project format implies that Chinese students will study at home for three years and spend the last year in Kuzbass where they will defend their final qualification work.
- CHUIN attaches great importance to joint Chinese-Russian education project with KuzSTU and will support its implementation with material and financial resources at most and will actively contribute to the orderly development of the project, - said Huang Weijiu, the ChUIN rector.
During the meeting, the parties signed an agreement to jointly train bachelors in environmental engineering under the "2+2" program. Since 2020 a similar agreement between KuzSTU and CHUIN is implemented in the field of "Electronics and Nanoelectronics", in 2021 the first set of students was held: two years they are studying in China, and from 2023 - in Kemerovo. Upon successful completion of training Chinese students will receive two diplomas: a bachelor's degree, established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, issued by KuzSTU and a bachelor's degree, issued by CHUIN.
- In future we plan to organize bilateral exchange of students in these programs, - noted Alexey Yakovlev, Rector of KuzSTU and added - Cooperation within the framework of educational programs moves towards scientific projects, today there are several topics under discussion and I hope that in future they will be implemented by joint teams of our universities.
Let us also remind you that in 2021 KuzSTU and CHUIN launched a network educational project as part of the business program of the VI Eastern Economic Forum. The universities united educational resources for training young specialists in the postgraduate program in mechanical engineering, chemical technologies, mining machines and complexes. Eleven graduate students are currently enrolled in this program, and they are supervised by both Russian and Chinese supervisors.
