A festival for foreign students of Kuzbass universities was held as part of the celebration of International Russian Language Day.
The festival aims to unite foreign students of higher educational institutions, to create interest in Russian language and literature, to form research thinking and to foster a cognitive attitude to the cultural heritage of the country and the region where foreign students study.
During the festival for international students there were held: a recitation contest "Charmed by Pushkin's verse", an intellectual game "Russia, Pushkin and I", an online quiz in the group of REC "Kuzbass" in the social network "VKontakte", a thematic online test for knowledge of the Russian language, folklore, Russian fairy tales and Russian fiction and a drawing contest "The Russian world in the works of Russian poets"

On June 6, as part of the celebration of the International Day of the Russian Language, together with Kemerovo State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, ANO Scientific and Educational Center "Kuzbass" held a recitation contest "Charmed by Pushkin's Verse".
A total of 56 foreign students from China, India, Yemen, Africa, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan studying at KemGU, KuzGTU named after T. F. Gorbachev, KemGMU, SibGIU, KemGIK, KuzGSA took part in the competition. Note that 21 students from China took part in the competition remotely.
On June 8, as part of the Pushkin Meetings festival, the ANO Scientific and Educational Center Kuzbass in cooperation with the Kuzbass State Library for Children and Youth held an intellectual game "Russia, Pushkin and Me" for foreign university students.
The participants of the game had to divide into teams and answer questions devoted to the works of Alexander Pushkin, reflection of literature and folklore in music and fine arts, as well as questions from the field of folklore of different nations and Russian fiction. The teams were also offered to prepare a dramatization of a short excerpt of a fairy tale or other work by Alexander Pushkin in Russian or in translation into their native language.
A total of 25 international students from India, Africa, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan studying at KemSU, KuzGTU named after T.F. Gorbachev and KuzGSA took part in the event.

As a result of the contest, the best reader received valuable prizes from the Scientific and Educational Center "Kuzbass", and all participants received access to the platform "Russian as a Foreign Language" from the partner of the contest "IPR Media". The platform contains educational materials for studying the Russian language.
