Projects of the Centre «Kuzbass-Donbass» were included in the business programme book of the Eighth Russian-Chinese EXPO
The collection of projects of the VIII round table «Russian-Chinese scientific and technical cooperation in the field of development and implementation of high technologies» within the framework of the business programme of the Eighth Russian-Chinese EXPO in Harbin (PRC) has been published.
The publication includes two large-scale projects of the participants of the Kuzbass-Donbass Scientific and Educational Centre.
Thus, the Institute of Earth Crust of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences presented a waste-free magnetic-gravity technology and installation for processing coal sludge and waste tailings from coal preparation plants, developed jointly with Spirit Research and Production Company. The development has undergone a number of tests at real production facilities, and the results are significant. The unit allowed the specialists to obtain coal concentrate with ash content less than 20% and iron concentrate with iron mass fraction not less than 62%. At the same time, from 1 tonne of sludge, on average, about 15-20% of commercial coal concentrate was obtained. The products are suitable for use in the metallurgical industry or for use in heavy-medium separation for coal preparation.
Another project presented in the collection is related to the integrated processing of coal mining and coal processing wastes with the separation of rare and rare-earth elements and was developed by scientists of the Kuzbass State Technical University. In the course of research the specialists have developed a method of obtaining concentrates of rare and rare earth elements oxides, as well as their separate oxides from coal mining, coal processing and coal consumption wastes. The methodology has been tested on samples of waste from Kuzbass production.
