During the first day of the Forum an International Scientific and Practical Symposium "Carbon: from Coal to Diamond" was held at Kuzbass State Technical University named after T.F. Gorbachev. Guests included representatives of the business and scientific community from all regions of Russia, as well as from abroad. Participants discussed the problems and prospects of the coal industry, the restructuring of international partnerships between Russia and the coal producing countries, improving the efficiency of coal plant management based on an integrated digitalization of manufacturing processes; ESG agenda of the coal mine in a global context, energy development in a "double control" policy to reduce carbon emissions, as well as import substitution in the coal industry, the importance of patent analytics for the coal mining companies and the coal industry.

Kemerovo State Medical University is one of the venues of the Forum. Modern genetic technologies were discussed at the Kemerovo State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. A lecture was given by Valentina Larionova, Doctor of Medicine, Professor at the Department of Medical Genetics at the I.I. Mechnikov North-West State Medical University and President of the Schwarz Association of Molecular Medicine, Medical and Laboratory Genetics.

"In such industrially developed regions as KuZbass, it is necessary to develop genomic technologies, serious molecular and epidemiological research and disease prevention medicine," stressed Valentina Larionova.

The International Coal Forum enables specialists to meet at discussion meetings, lectures and round tables, in order to move forward in solving tasks of technology transfer, including genetic ones, to practical healthcare.

"RAC "KuZbass" regularly initiates scientific and practical lectures by leading scientists from Russia and the world for specialists in the region, as the diffusion of advanced knowledge will certainly have its effects on the KuZbass. People are given new opportunities to apply medical technology in practice. In terms of research, this will greatly help those who work in laboratories," said Irina Ganieva, Minister of Science and Higher Education of KuZbass.
