For the first time, Kemerovo State Medical University (a member of the non-profit centre "KuZbass") has received international accreditation

Kemerovo State Medical University has been accredited by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). This confirms the compliance of higher education obtained at the Kuzbass university with international standards and enables the export of educational services.

"This recognition at the international level is the result of many years of coordinated work by the administration and staff of the Medical University, the teaching staff and the students. An independent commission of experts assessed the University's commitment to improving the level of medical care for the population by implementing high scientific and ethical standards in training specialists. This event helps to improve the image and strengthen the competitive position of Kuzbass education and makes the region more attractive for applicants in Russia and abroad", said Governor Sergey Tsivilev.

Kemerovo State Medical University has received its first international program accreditation for the specialties "Medicine", "Preventive Medicine" and "Pharmacy".

Obtaining this status gives KemSMU a number of competitive advantages: international recognition, comparability and convertibility of qualifications awarded by the university, confirmation of guarantees of high quality education and services, compliance with international requirements; increasing the attractiveness of the university and trust from the main stakeholders (students, parents, employers); wide integration into the world educational space and access to external market of educational services; support of institutional changes not only for the students but also for the students of the university.

For KemSMU students international accreditation also provides a number of advantages, including participation in various academic mobility programmes in foreign partner HEIs; enrolment in other foreign HEIs in Master's and Doctoral programmes; increased competitiveness of graduates both at national and international labour markets, employment in the specialty at home and abroad.

International accreditation was conducted by the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency IAAR - the leading international accreditation agency for quality assurance in education.
