The SibSIU facilitated a «Dialogue of Cultures» for its international students

With the support of Rosmolodezh, a team from the Siberian State Industrial University implemented the initiative «University as a Platform for Cultural Dialogue», aimed at helping international students adapt.

The goal was to assist students from different countries in overcoming the language barrier and integrating more quickly into university life. To achieve this, the organizers focused on three key formats:

• An adaptation week featuring walks around Novokuznetsk, lessons on Russian traditions, and a visit to a folklore center.
• «InterKuznya» – an interactive meeting where students from Sri Lanka, China, CIS countries, and Russia shared stories, music, and customs of their homelands.
• A national cuisine festival dedicated to Nowruz, involving cooking dishes and cultural presentations.

The project brought together over 240 people, nearly half of whom were international students. The participants not only learned more about the university and the city but also made new friends.

Initiatives like these are an important part of the international dimension of the Research and Academic Centre «Kuzbass – Donbass» work. They create a comfortable environment for study and communication in the region and lay the groundwork for future international cooperation in science and education.
