The results of 2022
  • Analytical review of modern scientific and technical, regulatory, methodological literature on methods of obtaining concentrates of rare and rare-earth element oxides from waste coal mining, coal consumption and coal processing of the Kemerovo region-Kuzbass (139 sources). It is revealed that at present there is no necessary object-by-object information on the content of the whole complex of especially valuable and toxic microcomponents in coal processing products in the territory of Kuzbass. Coal mining and coal processing wastes themselves are used without complex separation - as construction materials or means of soil restoration. Or it is proposed to separate only macrocomponents (magnetic concentrate, aluminosilicate microspheres) from them
  • The methodology of experimental studies of the content of rare and rare-earth elements in wastes of coal mining, coal consumption and coal processing of Kemerovo region - Kuzbass, suitable for the detection of rare and rare-earth elements in wastes has been substantiated
  • Coal base, coal mining waste, coal consumption and coal processing waste of Kemerovo region - Kuzbass were analyzed for the content of valuable components
  • A number of physical-mechanical and physical-chemical characteristics of coal preparation and processing waste samples have been determined. In a number of physical and mechanical properties investigated: moisture content, bulk density, grain composition and coarseness modulus, fineness of grinding and hydraulic activity of ashes.
In a number of physico-chemical properties investigated: solubility in water, leachability in nitric and sulfuric acids, ash content; X-ray phase analysis of samples of coal waste. On the basis of certain characteristics, a processing method will be developed in the future
  • Approaches to the method of obtaining concentrates of some oxides of elements included in the composition of waste are substantiated. At the first stage of coal waste processing it is necessary to remove underburning in ash and slag (3-5% wt. %) and coal residues in sludge (40-60% wt. %). These processes have been tested on samples of ash and sludge of the industrial partner - Berezovskaya CPP. Then the remaining waste should be subjected to magnetic separation to remove iron oxides. At this stage, the magnetic and non-magnetic fractions need to be analyzed to determine the content of rare and rare earth elements in each of them. Further processes involve the removal of silicon oxide and aluminum compounds from the waste. These processes will help to increase the concentration of rare and rare earth compounds.
