Project 12

World-class eco-polygon of reclamation and remediation technologies

"Ecology and health conservation"
GOAL

Development and creation of a world-class ecopolygon of reclamation and remediation technologies

INTENDED OUTCOMES
  • Technology of disturbed land reclamation, nature-like, for restoration on overburden dumps of coal deposits in Kuzbass of nature-like plant communities, maximally close to natural undisturbed landscapes by their ecosystem characteristics - species composition, structure of cenotic relationships, soil-ecological effect, as well as relief and hydrological regime - to natural undisturbed landscapes

The results of 2022
  • When studying the world experience in reclamation of technogenically disturbed lands, the following prospects for improving the technical stage of reclamation were identified:
    1. Application of geotextile material before application of PSP.
    2. Backfilling of the territory with bio-coal prior to the PSP application on the surface of coal dumps.
    3. Backfilling of the territory with humic preparations prior to SRP application on the surface of coal dumps.
    4. Combined application of liming and composted solid biological substances as additives to the SRP.
  • The conclusions about the necessity of using software and hardware complexes (hereinafter referred to as PAC) consisting of high-performance unmanned aircraft (hereinafter referred to as UAV) of commercial class (multirotor systems are preferable due to the small area of the object of work), digital camera, airborne laser scanner (lidar), multispectral camera, radiometric thermal imager, gas analyzer, onboard and ground satellite geodetic receivers, software (hereinafter referred to as software) for photogrammetric processing, software for image processing, and software for the processing of satellite geodetic data.
  • Spatial data on the experimental site and adjacent territories of overburden dumps of Kuzbass coal fields were obtained according to the developed "Program and methodology of remote sensing of the experimental site and adjacent territories of overburden dumps of Kuzbass coal fields".
  • Methodological approaches to the study of technogenic landscapes and determination of their soil-ecological state have been developed. Conducting such studies makes it possible to identify limiting restoration factors and assess the prospects of natural restoration of disturbed lands. If the forecast is unfavorable, it is necessary to design and implement a set of reclamation measures.
  • Studies of native soil cover and transformed into technogenically disturbed area within the Talda coal mine of the Prokopyevsko-Kiselevsky industrial center of Kuzbass have been carried out. At the experimental site the restoration of soil cover is at the initial stage, there are young soil-like bodies - embryozem initial and embryozem organoaccumulative, which belong to technogenic surface formations. In accordance with the terms of reference and the research program, the physico-chemical indicators of soils were analyzed in comparison with the indicators of native landscape soil and on the basis of normative documents
